FalconsEdge Youth Mentoring Getway
Gviving At-Risk Youth and falimies the support need when parents and youth have no where else to turn. So we start are weekend getaway Mentoring event.
Among the planned activities are a chess challenge where the young men will learn strategies and life skills via the game of chess and a suit-fitting session in which they will learn how to purchase a well-tailored professional suit. In addition, FalconsEdge will present a town hall meeting in which the boys will learn from him the principles and responsibilities of manhood. “All the young men who are attending this camp come from homes without fathers..
Three hours were dedicated to mentor skill building, utilizing new curriculum from the FalconsEdge Mentor Training curriculum project. Mentors discussed positive and directive feedback, positive youth development, cultural competency issues and communication across generations. Meanwhile, mentees spent this time exploring the world of science and solidifying relationships through team building exercises.
